Do you want to be a photographer, or do you want to take only pictures?
Whether you want to be a photographer, or you want only take pictures, you do not need a large number of megapixels, neither to take 30 frames per second continuously, or use ISO over 1600. If you want to become a photographer, you need a camera on which you will learn the skills how to shoot in manual and use the other camera modes. Also, how to frame or learn the relationship between aperture, exposure time and ISO.
What is photography?
Where does the word "photography" come from? The word photograph was created from the composition of two Greek words phōtós - light and gráphō - write, graphein - draw. In literal translation, it is drawing with the light. As a photographer, to create great photos, "you'll draw with light every day."
It is widely believed that photography is not complicated, and anyone can take photos. What is difficult in photographing? Nowadays, anyone can grab the camera and take pictures. Moreover, everyone has a camera on a mobile phone, and people make millions of photos every day. But, have you ever thought about what you want to photograph? How do you want to do it? What effect do you want to get in the picture? Very few people are aware of the fact that the camera decides how the image will look like and what settings to apply so that the photo comes out adequately exposed. In this situation, unfortunately, your role ends with pointing the lens at the object you want to photograph and press the shutter button. If you're going to take pictures of your holidays, trips or family events, you don't need to buy a big and bulky digital SLR camera. The big camera will only bother you and disturb in having good fun. For shooting such photos is enough to have effortless a compact camera. And you won't be in most cases had time to set up the camera, and its use will come down to shooting using the AUTO mode.

But if you want to delve into the secrets of photography. Learn to control the camera and master one of the many fields of photography. In the beginning, I recommend you buy one of the entry-level digital SLR cameras. An example of such an SLR camera can be Canon EOS 2000D SLR in the set with two 18-55mm & 75-300mm lenses or Nikon D3500 + AF-P 18-55mm VR + Tamron 70-300mm Di LD Macro.

Photography, hobby or something more?
After acquiring certain skills and finding out that photography is what we are passionate about, lower-class equipment can always be sold to other beginner photographers or photography lovers, and in its place, we can buy gears more professional and adequate to our needs. This method is common and practised by many budding photographers who are not yet sure in which direction they want to develop. The sets mentioned above are more than enough to start the adventure with photography and take good quality photos in most of its fields. For example. I started my experience with digital photography with a Canon 1100D camera equipped with two 18-55mm & 75-300mm set lenses, and later on, I added to the kit a cheap Canon 50mm lens. As a side note, I would like to point out that I still use this camera for street photography. And as a curiosity. I want to bring up the fact that one of my photo projects based on which I published the photobook SEXAXA, I photographed with a Canon 1000 camera equipped with a 75-300mm lens.
Now, when we have chosen the camera, we should know how to control it, use it and start photographing. But, about it in the next article.
